use of humour in medical education: students’ perspective

In early 20th century, Sir William Osler supported the use of humour as an efficacious tool in medical education, which continues to be used today. Despite abundance literature delineating this important role, it is often overlooked among students. A descriptive cross-sectional study was planned where a total 295 students from pre-clerkship and clerkship phases at Beirut Arab University Faculty Medicine were included study. questionnaire distributed participants assessing their perception on education. Data collected, entered, analysed SPSS software version 23.1. Results with p-value < 0.05 considered statistically significant. Inappropriate distracts attention disrupts formal atmosphere. Our findings suggest students’ opinions using education are supportive. might benefit assist teachers improve attendance interest class create environment conducive optimal student learning.
